Thoughts for the new year:
« on: December 09, 2009, 08:09:45 PM »
Well gang; I don't know why; but I've decided to start racing again.
I haven't run IMSA for 16 years, and haven't run SCCA for 15 years; but I'm feeling it calling back to me; and I can't ignore it.

So I've picked up a couple of Alfa Romeo's and I'm prepping them up for the coming year. Going to run autocross, track days, and time trials in 2010, while building the 2nd car to run club racing in the prepared class for the 2011 season, if all goes well.

They've actually knocked me all the way to getting my novice license again; since I've gone so many seasons without being in competition, but it's better than watching it on tv.

Should be some interesting posts and threads in the coming year.

Well; it's setback by a couple of months. The engine blew in the autocross car, up on 95 heading home after picking it up in West Palm Beach. Hole in the side of the block I can put my hand in and grab the crankshaft through.

Since the PO sold me the car with a spare long-block; I'm Thinking maybe he knew something was up? LOL!

Well; time to use the spare to build a race motor, I guess.

Looks like my luck with women is turning into my luck with cars as well...
